Eric Opoku

Eric is currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), University of Nottingham, China. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the City University of Hong Kong, where he was a Beta Gamma Sigma honouree. Prior to joining NUBS China, he worked as a Research Associate at the University of Hamburg, Germany and Teaching Assistant at the City University of Hong Kong. Eric does applied economics research mainly in the areas of economics of environmental sustainability (environmental economics), energy (access, poverty and transition), sustainable development and finance, development finance, foreign direct investment and international trade. In these areas, his research outputs have been published in journals such as Energy Economics, Energy Policy, World Development, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Business Strategy and the Environment.
