Professor Christian Nsiah

Professor Christian Nsiah is a distinguished Professor of Economics and Finance and currently serves as the Chair of the Finance, Analytics, and Economics Department at the Carmel Boyer School of Business, Baldwin Wallace University. He holds the prestigious Buckhorn Endowed Chair in Economics. Professor Nsiah earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics and a Master of Arts in Financial Economics from Middle Tennessee State University.
With a wealth of experience, Professor Nsiah has taught economics and finance courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels at several institutions, including Black Hills State University, University of Maryland Global Campus, and Baldwin Wallace University. He has also contributed to the field as a Guest Professor for Montana Dakota Utilities Company.
His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including corporate finance performance, regional economics, international trade and finance, and economic growth and development. Through his scholarly work, Professor Nsiah has published numerous papers in respected international peer-reviewed journals such as Tourism Economics, The Journal of Developing Areas, Tourism Management, African Development Review, Journal of Economics and Finance, Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of African Development, and Economia Internazionale/International Economics among others.
In addition to his academic research, Professor Nsiah serves as a consultant, advising institutions on currency hedging strategies and economic impact analysis. He is also the driving force behind the Investment Club at Baldwin Wallace University, where he guides students in managing a portfolio with total assets of approximately $1.5 million. Through his dedication to teaching, research, and mentorship, Professor Nsiah continues to significantly impact the field of economics and finance.
Professor Nsiah is also a three-time Olympian (1996, 2000, 2004). He sometimes serves as the head coach for the Ghana national track team (African Games, 2019; World Relays Championships, 2020; & World Championships, 2022).
